PHYSICIAN EXAMINATION

WHAT TO EXPECT:  You will be examined by the physician within 15-30 minutes of being placed in a treatment area.  Your examination will include hands on assessment as well as discussion.  The physician should sit down at the bedside when practical and speak to you, not the computer.  The physician should clean their hands with gel or in the sink prior to touching you.

The result of your examination will be orders for care from the nursing staff, technical staff and possibly lab and radiology examinations.

You may not see your physician again until all test results are back and they are re-evaluating you for discharge or admission.
